PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear ultrasonic motor which realizes driving in both directions without complicating the structure. SOLUTION: Both ends of a stator 10 are supported by a supporting means 20 having flexibility higher than that of the stator 10 and a piezoelectric element 16 comprises a first polarizing means 16a arranged correspondingly to a first standing wave 24 and a second polarizing means 16b arranged correspondingly to a second standing wave 26 deviated in the position of node from the first standing wave 24. A voltage of the frequency of about 40, 34kHz which is equal to or near the freuqency of about 40kHz of the natural vibration of the stator 10 is impressed to the first polarizing means 16a and second polarizing means 16b. Moreover, a projection 18 is located with deviation to one side of the loop of the first standing wave 24 with reference to the moving direction of a moving body and is also located with deviation to the other side of the loop of the second standing wave 26. |
