The present invention is to provide an apparatus for generating mute singal of monitor. The apparatus for generating mute singal of monitor according to the present invention comprises a video board 20 for amplifying R,G,B color signal from a microprocessor(10) of a general computer and for outputting light signal corresponding to the R,G,B color signal; a cathode ray tube(30) for displaying the R,G,B color signal from said video board; and a main board(60) for processing a vertical synchronization signal and a horizontal synchronization signal from the microprocessor and for applying the light signal and the R,G,B color signal from said video board to a vertical deflecting unit(40) and a horizontal defecting unit(50), said apparatus comprising: a mute signal generating means 65 for removing output of video signal scanned in said video board if neither the vertical synchronization signal nor horizontal synchronization signal is inputted to said main board. Thereby, the present invention can remove spots and noise of monitor.
