<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new peptide compound consisting of a specific oligopeptide derivative containing a group capable of forming a thioester and capable of accurately and simply determining pepsin, pepsinogen, etc., as a substrate for assaying the enzymatic activities of the proteases, etc. SOLUTION: A new compound of the formula: X-A-B-C [X is H, a group for irreversibly masking the terminal amino group, an amino-protecting group usually used in peptide chemistry; A is glycine residue, the residue of an amino acid such as D or L-alanine, valine, norvaline, leucine, isoleucine, norleucine, serine or threonine, a dipeptide residue; B is the residue of an amino acid such as phenylalanine, para-nitrophenylalanine or tyrosine; C is the residue of a thiol derivative having a 1-30C hydrocarbon (one to ten of the carbon atoms may be replaced with the atoms of O, N and/or S, and two to ten of the hydrogen atoms may also be replaced with the atoms of O, N, S) capable of forming a sthioester bond]. The compound of the formula can accurately and simply determine pepsin and pepsinogen as a substrate for assaying the activities of the enzymes.</p> |
