摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain thermal transfer properties which are excellent in thermal sensitivity or the like while a transfer image which is excellent in abrasion resistance, heat resistance, and chemical resistance is obtained by a method wherein copolymer resin containing acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile as monomer constituent, and specific polyester resin are contained as a binder resin in an ink layer. SOLUTION: In a thermal transfer recording medium wherein a peeling layer having wax as a main constituent, and an ink layer containing a colorant are successively laminated on a base material, a copolymer resin containing acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile as a monomer constituent, and a Tg 30-50 deg.C polyester resin added thereto are contained as a binder resin of the ink layer. Though an amount to be added can be suitably selected according to required durability and printing characteristics for main materials of two ink layers, when adaptapility to a wide ranged acceptive material is concidered, the polyester resin is preferably contained by 20-50wt.% to total wt. of solid contents in the ink layer. Thereby, a transfer image which is excellent in abrasion resistance or the like, and excellent thermal transfer properties are obtained.
