PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a releasing agent for metallic mold casting which can obtain the excellent releasing property and the lubricity at the time of casting, and also secure the stability of quality of a cast product without damaging the outer appearance and the corrosion resistance on the obtd. cast product surface, and a metallic mold casting method of a light metal using this releasing agent. SOLUTION: The water dispersion type releasing agent is the one mixing 0.04-1.5wt.% graphite base solid lubricator composed of flaky natural graphite powder having 0.3-5.0μm average grain diameter and 0.08-2.0wt.% non-graphite base solid lubricant composed of one or more kinds among boron nitride, molybdenum disulfide and powdery talc having 0.8-10.0μm average grain diameter and setting the average grain diameter of the whole-solid lubricator to 0.5-5μm and the whole content to 0.08-3.0wt.% and the ratio of the graphite base solid lubricant to the whole body to <=50wt.%. Then, this releasing agent is coated by a prescribed quantity of the metallic mold to execute the metallic mold casting.
