PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a color filter of high display quality by using a resin black matrix(BM) of a thin film having high optical density and low reflectance. SOLUTION: The light-shielding layer of this filter consists of a first light- shielding layer 2 essentially comprising a black pigment and a photosensitive resin, and a second light-shielding layer 3 essentially comprising graphite. These layers are produced by applying a compsn. essentially comprising a black pigment, a photosensitive resin and a diluent on the transparent substrate 1 and drying to form the first light-shielding layer 2, and then applying a compsn. essentially comprising graphite and a diluent on the first light-shielding layer 2 and drying to form the second light-shielding layer 3. Then the first light- shielding layer 2 is developed and the part of the second light-shielding layer 3 on the developed part of the first light-shielding layer 2 is removed to obtain a desired pattern. |
