PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the image forming method and its device in which an image with high quality corresponding to an operating environment is attained by providing an environment setting means easily setting an operating environment of the image forming device in advance and a means easily designating conversion data for conversion of picture element density in response to the operating environment. SOLUTION: An environment setting means 19 is connected to a control circuit 16 to set a plurality of operating environments and sets of each density of picture elements for each kind of a set operating environment and each picture element pattern consisting of a plurality of picture elements corresponding to each density are stored in a ROM in the control circuit 16. When the operating environment is set, the control circuit 16 selects sets of picture element patterns corresponding to the setting are selected and a patch is generated on a photoreceptor drum 1 via a laser driver 12 and density data are obtained by a density sensor 17. A LUT arithmetic circuit 18 generates an LUT based on the sets of the selected picture element pattern and the density data. Thus, the image forming method and its device are obtained, in which an image with high quality corresponding to the operating environment is generated. |
