CATHETER WITH SENSOR FUNCTION, SEMICONDUCTOR PHYSICAL AMOUNT SENSOR CHIP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter with a sensor function which is relatively simple in structure of a sensor part and can be made compact. SOLUTION: A semiconductor pressure sensor chip 6 and a pressure transmission medium 9 are accommodated in a catheter tube 2 having a pressure- receiving face 8a at a front end thereof. A pressure acting to the pressure- receiving face 8a is transmitted via the pressure transmission medium 9 to the sensor ship 6, thereby to detect the presence/absence of an obstacle. The sensor chip 6 has two diaphragms 12, 13 as a pressure-sensing part capable of sensing a pressure change. One of the diaphragms is assigned to detect the obstacle and the remaining one is assigned to detect a blood pressure.
