PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easy retrieval of image information which has been retrieved in the past. SOLUTION: A CPU, when actuated displays books in a bookshelf display area a(S1), and displays a selected book in a spread book display area and a history book in a history book display area when the book is selected (S2→-S3→S4). Then, when a history button is pressed, the history book is selected and displayed in the spread book display area (S5→S3) and when a bookshelf button is pressed, a bookshelf is enlarged and displayed, and the processes are repeated (S6→S1→...). When neither the history button nor the bookshelf button is pressed and page turning operation is needed, the page turning operation is performed (S8) and then the retrieved book is stored at the end of the page turning operation (S9); and a return to the step S5 is made and the above-mentioned processes are repeated.
