PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric converter for a large display screen which comprises a plurality of photoelectric converter element boards bonded together, and which solve a problem that such light to be received as light emitted from a phosphor layer is reflected by areas of rear surfaces of the photoelectric converter boards other than their photoelectric converter regions or by ends of the bonded boards, thereby improving optical characteristics including resolution. SOLUTION: In the photoelectric converter 1 comprising a plurality of boards 1-1 to 1-4 having a plurality of photoelectric converter elements mounted thereon, at least one of rear faces or end faces of the boards 1-1 to 1-4 are provided with a light absorber 3. A light converter for receiving an X ray and emitting light having a wavelength different from that of the X ray is provided on each of the photoelectric converter elements.
