PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture variable magnification device capable of performing a variable magnification processing without lacking the continuity of picture data. SOLUTION: Whether or not a picture element under consideration is provided with vertical or oblique continuity in relation with the lines on a sub scanning side on both sides is confirmed by a 3×3 filter, and when it is continuous, registration is performed as a continuous picture element. In the figure, the picture elements indicated by black star-shaped marks are the continuous picture elements, the picture elements specified by arrows are sampling picture elements to be extracted by a reduction processing, and in the case that continuous pixel data not turned to the sampling picture elements are present, a supplement processing for painting out a part from the continuous pixel data to a sampling picture element position in a drawing right direction as black data is performed. Black data newly supplemented by the supplement processing are indicated by black diamond marks. By performing the reduction processing based on the picture data after the supplement processing, the picture data whose continuity is surely maintained are obtained. |
