PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a ceramic fiber, comprising respective specific amounts of C, O, Na and Si, having excellent oxidation resistance, high temperature strength and damage tolerance and useful for a gas turbine part, etc. SOLUTION: This ceramic fiber consists essentially of Si and has 26-33wt.% C content in order for conversion into a carbide at >=0.43 weight ratio of C to Si, 1.0-13wt.% O content and 0.001-0.05wt.% Na content. The balance except the respective elements of the C, O and Na is Si. |
