PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the information retrieval device which can efficiently and speedily retrieve necessary information from a data base, even when an ambiguous retrieval query sentence is used. SOLUTION: The information retrieval device 10 retrieves data having necessary satisfaction level from a data base storage part 13, in response to the input of a retrieval query sentence P including the ambiguous retrieval conditions. In this case, a condition retrieval part 14 converts the ambiguous conditions into unambiguous inclusion conditions, by using a corresponding membership function in a membership function storage part 12 to obtain a converted retrieval query sentence P'. Data meeting the unambiguous including conditions are taken out by a data taking-out part 15 for the calculation of the satisfaction level. Therefore, all the data in the data base need not be considered as objects for retrieval. |
