PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently clean a corona discharger in good timing by cleaning the corona discharger in the midst of receiving image data from the outside. SOLUTION: A cleaning control means (CPU) 60 monitors the propriety of the cleaning start condition of the corona discharger and drives a cleaning member through a driving means in the case the cleaning condition holds when the image data from the outside is written in an image memory 68. Namely, the corona discharger is cleaned in the midst of receiving the image data from the outside. When transferring the image data is finished in the midst of cleaning the corona discharger, the control means 60 moves the cleaning member to the position of a high level exposed area of the image to be recorded and stops it there. After such stop, an image forming control means (CPU) 60 starts image-forming in accordance with the image data in the memory 68. |
