PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an output torque controller for a vehicular internal combustion engine, capable of performing an engine output torque-reduction control for protecting an automatic transmission in a stalling state of the engine while preventing the breakage of a catalyst caused by an abnormal burning in the internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: If a value of a timer tSTLE is found to be '0' (step S105) to decide a stalling-engine speed reduction control should be started for a stalling engine, following steps S101 to S104, a stalling-engine speed reduction control is executed (step S108). The stalling-engine speed reduction control calculates a target driving torque TDSCMD for reducing the engine speed NE to a stalled-engine speed NESTLE or below. Subsequently the opening angle θTH of a throttle valve is controlled according to the target driving torque TDSCMD (steps S108 and S109). |
