A method of partially or totally protecting piping used in automobiles against mechanical or chemical damage consists of using a mould (1,2) with a cylindrical chamber (3) of greater diameter than the pipe diameter, but with the two ends (4) having the same diameter as the pipe. The length of pipe to be protected is placed in the chamber so that its ends close the ends of the chamber. A material that will fill the chamber, adhere to the pipe and remain flexible is injected into the chamber. Also claimed is the mould. |
