A linear motor (20), constituted by armature coils within a movable slider (24) and a fixed magnet body (22), drives the movable slider (24) and a driven body of a laser machining apparatus fixed to the movable slider (24) in a linear direction. The magnetic attraction force occurring between the movable slider (24) and the fixed magnetic body (22) is canceled by a magnetic attraction force generated between a magnet body for compensation (32), separately provided on the upper face of the driven body (14), and a stationary magnetic body (34) disposed thereabove. Thus, frictional resistance occurring with linear guiding means (16a, 16b) can be alleviated during the motion of the driven body (14). <IMAGE> |
