[Class 103 (v)] [Also in Groups XXV and XXI] A coupling for a part to be released simultaneously, such as a parachute or a bomb consists of a central-member 5 slotted at its lower end to accommodate catches 12 pivoted on a cross pin 11, and provided with means 4 for attachment to aircraft &c. The bomb or other article is attached at 2 to a member chambered out to receive the catches 12 which are retained in the locking position by a sleeve 6 engaging the tail ends 9 of the catches which are also engaged by the bevel end 14 of the slot in the member 5. To effect release the sleeve is slid back against spring pressure at 7, a spring pin 15 holding the catches, when disengaged in position to facilitate re-engagement.</p> |
