PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a demodulator capable of increasing the probability of demodulation success of data and accelerating the speed of reproducing operation. SOLUTION: Interval data corresponding to recorded data read out from an optical card is generated by an interval data obtaining circuit 32, these data are successively stored in an interval data memory 35, interval data read out from this interval data memory 35 in the prescribed order is demodulated by a CPU 36, while this demodulated data is stored in a modulated data memory 37. And when error correction is performed by an error correction circuit 38 for every plural pieces of data for demodulated data stored in the demodulated data memory 37, in the case of impossibility of error correction, interval data corresponding to plural pieces of data of which error correction is performed by this error correction circuit 38 is controlled so that interval data is read out from the interval data memory 35 in the reverse order of the prescribed order. |
