PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure safety for inadvertent swallowing by an infant, achieve the improvement of working efficiency in a manufacturing operation, reduce a manufacturing cost, and further, enhance the general applicability to various types of writing instrument for use. SOLUTION: This cap for a writing instrument is constituted of a cap main body 2 and a clip 3. In addition, a recessed groove is formed running upto the base part 6 of the clip 3 from a communicating hole 5 pierced at the tip part 4 of the inner wall face 7 of the clip 3, and the clip 3 is fitted into the cap main body 2 to form an air hole 9. Consequently, it is possible to reduce the number of parts and simplify a manufacturing operation to enhance the operating efficiency and the accuracy of a finished product. Further, an air hole is securely provided when the cap is inadvertently swallowed so that safety is ensured and the manufacturing cost is reduced. Besides, the cap main body 2 alone is replaceable to the type of a writing instrument and thus the general applicability of the cap for use is widened. |
