PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a furnace temperature distribution uniform both in a central axial direction and in a circumferential direction in a muffle furnace having at least one or more pairs of two burners having regenerators one of which is an alternating combustion burner for exhausting gas while the other is in a state of combustion. SOLUTION: This muffle furnace 10 has at least one or more pairs of two burners 20A and 20B having regenerators one (20B) of which is an alternating combustion burner for exhausting gas while the other (20A) of which is in a state of combustion. The two burners constituting one pair are respectively arranged at substantially symmetrical positions relative to the axis L of a muffle 12. The injection and exhaust directions (d1 and d2, and D1 and D2) thereof are the same directions and parallel to each other relative to the direction of the axis L. |
