PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frequency division multiplex optical transmission system in which an information amount able to be sent by one transmission system and one reception system is increased and intermodulation distortion between a plurality of frequency multiplex signals is suppressed considerably. SOLUTION: A plurality of frequency multiplex signals DM, AM generated by multiplexer circuits FDM1, FDM2 are fed to separate optical modulators TX1, TX2, which produce optical modulation signals DM', AM', a wavelength division multiplier WDM multiplies them and the result is sent through an optical fiber transmission line L. A photoelectric conversion element PD of a reception section applies photoelectric conversion to the optical modulation signal into a photoelectric conversion signal SPD The photoelectric conversion signal SPD is subject to frequency band division by filters LPF, HPF whose pass bands differ, each processed signal is give to each signal processing circuit, where voltage and power amplification is conducted and the results are added by an adder circuit MX to form a high frequency signal RF and it is distributed to subscriber terminals. |
