PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily adjust a brake action by means of a pair of plate springs by a method wherein a pin has an elliptical contour, in cross section, at a portion of the pin, where the pin is held by plate springs of a catch body, and is mounted so as to be rotatable about the axis so that the direction of the major axis of the elliptical section can be changed. SOLUTION: When the resistance in the movement of a sliding door 1 varies due to the weight of the door or mount conditions of a V-roller, a catch device does not properly function. In such a case, if a pin 6 is pushed up against the urging force of a spring 33, a protrusion 24 on the outer periphery of the proximal end 23 of the pin 6 having large diameter is disengaged from a tooth 30 on the inner periphery of a cylinder 27 and the pin 6 is made rotatable. Next, the direction of the major axis of an elliptical portion 22 of the pin 6 is changed to relieve the pushing force to bring the protrusion 24 of the pin 6 into engagement with the tooth 30 on the side of the cylinder 27. And an effective width for a pair of plate springs 10 on the left and right side of the portion 22 varies so that sliding resistance against the movement of the pin 6 is adjusted and hence a brake force can be properly adjusted for the sliding door 1. |
