PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hydrophilic improver for a polyolefin-based fiber excellent in instantaneous water permeability, durable water permeability, wet reversibility and safety and useful for paper diapers, sanitary napkins, etc., comprising a specific ratio of a specific polyether compound to a specific polyether-modified silicone. SOLUTION: This improver for hydrophilicity of a polyolefin-based fiber comprises (A) 10-90wt.% of a polyether compound comprising a repeating unit expressed by formula I [R is propylene; R' is ethylene; (a) is 5-100: (b) is 1-100] and (B) 90-10wt.% of a polyether-modified silicone expressed by formula II [R" is ethylene or propylene; R''' is H, a 1-12C alkoxy or carboxy; (c) is 7-100; (d) is 1-10; (e) is 2-3; (f) is 20-80] and more preferably is blended with (C) <=5wt.% of a fatty acid metal salt of the formula RCOOM (R is an 11-17C alkyl or alkenyl; M is Na or K) and (D) 10-40wt.% of an alkylolamide compound of formula III. |
