PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which accurately detects, over the entire area from the high density part to low density part of a toner image, an amount of toner sticking to the surface of an intermediate transfer body after a development process. SOLUTION: Onto an intermediate transfer belt 19 composed of a transparent part and an opaque part, this device forms a multigradation toner image for the detection of an amount of sticking toner. It detects a quantity that light from a light emitting element 60 is made incident on a light receiving element 60b after transmitted through a toner image formed on the transparent part, and a position where light from a light emitting element 61a is reflected from a toner image formed on the opaque part and is made incident of a light receiving element 61b, and, based on the results of both detections, measures an amount of toner sticking to the surface of the intermediate transfer belt 19. |
