PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the image quality of a matrix type display device by dividely driving a screen and extending the time for impressing data on pixels. SOLUTION: The matrix type display device includes the pixels, image signal lines and scanning signal lines divided to many groups. At this time, the pixels belonging to the one pixel group are connected to the video signal lines belonging to the same signal line groups and the scanning signal lines belonging to the same scanning signal line groups. The pixels belonging to the pixel groups different from each other are connected to the image signal lines belonging to the image signal line groups different from each other and the scanning signal lines belonging to the scanning signal line groups different from each other. In this constitution, the screen is driven by setting the time when the scanning signals are supplied to respective gate lines G1 to G2m twice longer than heretofore and setting the period of the image data outputted from upper and lower frame memories 42, 44 twice longer. As a result, the time when data is inputted to the pixels is made twice longer than heretofore. |
