PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently cut and separate the cabinet of a cathode-ray tube device regardless of the kind of cathode-ray tube device by forming vertical and horizontal slits so as to enclose a cathode-ray tube on the cabinet. SOLUTION: On the basis of the dimensional measurement of a CRT equipment 1 obtained in pretreatment process, slits are formed on the front surface and both side surfaces of the cabinet 2 of the CRT equipment 1, and the cabinet 2 is then cut and separated to a front part 2A and a rear part 2B in the state where the CRT 6 of the CRT equipment 1 is attractively held. When the slits are formed on the front surface and both side surfaces of the cabinet 2 of the CRT equipment 1, a cutter is pressed as it is in rotating state in the state where the CRT equipment 1 is raised from a pallet by a prescribed distance.
