PURPOSE:To obtain the subject rubber composition, excellent in gripping power of wet road surfaces and abrasion resistance and especially rolling resistance by blending a specific carbon dioxide-modified copolymer with carbon black. CONSTITUTION:This rubber composition is obtained by blending (A) 100 pts.wt. raw material rubber in which a carbon dioxide-modified copolymer accounts for >=60 pts.wt. of 100 pts.wt. rubber component with (B) 50-100 pts.wt. carbon black having 100-250m<2>/g nitrogen adsorption specific surface area and 70-150ml/g absorption volume of dibutyl phthalate oil. The carbon dioxide- modified copolymer is prepared by copolymerizing a conjugated diene compound with an aromatic vinyl compound using an alkali metallic catalyst and then reacting the resultant active copolymer having alkali metallic terminals with carbon dioxide. The content of the aromatic vinyl compound is 25-60wt.% and the content of the 1.2-bond in the conjugated diene part is 10-50wt.%. |
