An NCU control part(24) which is in the stand-by state, judges if there is a ring signal coming thru a line. In case a ring signal is detected, the NCU control part(24) decides whether it is coming from the line l or line 2. As the ring signal is detected at the line 1, converts the switching part(21) into the line 2. As a result, when the conversion switches(SW3,3') are switched to the terminals(2,2'), during the period where the receiving of FAX is going on the line 1, the unselected line forms a loop by way of a resistor(R2) and thru this, it may inform the counter part that the FAX is busy. When the communication on the line 1 is over, the NCU control part(24) outputs a control signal and switches the terminals(SW3,3') over to the terminals(f,f').
