What is described is a method and an apparatus for the continuous needling of a pre-consolidated nonwoven web 3 with the aid of needles 2 pricking repeatedly into the nonwoven web 3, the nonwoven web 3 being taken up from the needling region at a continuous take-up speed, at the same time being drawn, during needle engagement and, at the same time being accelerated, during release by the needles 2. So that the take-up speed can be increased, it is proposed that the nonwoven web 3, after being needled, but before being taken up continuously, be accelerated, during release by the needles 2, to a speed exceeding the take-up speed. <IMAGE> |
