The ground bait consists of nutritive materials, which may be coloured and/or scented. The nutritive materials are mixed with effervescent products, in the form of powders. The effervescent materials mix with and coat the nutritive materials, which are present in the form of granules. The effervescent materials come into contact with the water and release bubbles, which produce an image similar to a volcano in miniature and are designed to spread the nutritive materials to increase the area covered by the ground bait. The effervescing materials can also produce an additional attracting element by releasing odours and colours.
