The motor-reducer device has a plastic base (2) with a generally plane wall (3) and lateral edges over which a cover can be fitted. The output shaft of the motor passes through a tube (4) moulded on to the base. The reduction gear has a plastic shaft (10) on which a toothed wheel carries an off-centre coupling for a linkage to the output shaft. The plastic shaft is hollow except for a short solid portion (13) whose length along the axis (12) approximately equals the thickness of the cylindrical wall.
