Vehicular floor-mounted gearbox control system with sheathed cable

The system includes the cable (C) which slides freely in its sheath (1) surrounded by a jacket (2) which is crimped at the end (3c) of a ferrule (3) terminated at the other end in a hemispherical cavity (3b). One end (4a) of a guidance tube (4) is free to rotate within the cavity. The tube surrounds the end of the cable where it is driven into the hollow end (5a) of a rod (5) for coupling to the gear selector lever. The cable is continuously guided through the rotary joint regardless of the angle between the axes of the ferrule and tube.
