In the starting mechanism, a starting switch enables the solenoid driven with the current of a battery, and the solenoid operates a plunger and the starting electric motor and drives a fly wheel to start an engine. The starting mechanism includes the starting electric motor(31) driven by the operation of the starting switch(12), a pinion gear(40) operated through a rod(36) connected to the starting electric motor(31), the plunger(26) operated by the magnetic field formed by the current flowing through a pull-in coil(22) and a hold-in coil(21) of the solenoid(20), and a clutch gear(7) moving to the left and right sides through a rod(27) of the plunger(26) and transmitting the torque of the pinion gear(40) to the fly wheel(50).
