A relay has a base with a bottom plate (2) which is part of a closed housing. Fixed contact elements (4) are anchored in the base. The fixed contact (7) carrying sections (6) of the contact elements (4) are arranged on the bottom plate, parallel thereto. An outwardly open recess (8) is provided in the bottom plate below each contact carrying section (6). The contact carrying sections (6) are cantilevered over said recesses. These recesses make it possible to adjust the contact carrying sections (6) even after the housing is sealed; they may be subsequently filled with glue.
