Ultrasound testing method for workpiece

Ultrasound signals are consecutively applied to a workpiece from an ultrasound test probe at different, periodically repeated angles. Echo signals corresp. to each angle are received, and the max. echo signal reflected from the surface of the workpiece is indicated for further processing. The ultrasound test probe is used for transmission and reception of ultrasound signals. The probe consists of several ultrasonic transducers arranged on a circular arc. The test probe runs along the workpiece while it sends ultrasound signals. The transducers are controlled to electronically shift the focus.
