Protective padding for net posts

The padding consists of a one-piece formed section (1) of soft-elastic plastics foam. This engages completely around the post and over most of its height. The formed section has a narrow longitudinal gap (2), which is widened to fit the section to the post, and is then releasably closed by closure elements. The elements are two or more hook and loop-type fasteners, engaging over the gap. The section consists of interlaced polyethylene foam with a thin cover layer of polyurethane.
