Stacked disc liquid filtration unit has off-centre penetrations for fluid take off

The casing (8) accepts a stack of filter discs (1) interposed between inlet and outlet (12, 13). The filtration flow is transverse to the direction of stacking. The discs are held in position by end plates, with a central channel (2) for fluid supply to them. A novel feature is the decentralisation of the penetrations, which form take-off channels (10) in the stack. The flow path for fluid through the filter is shorter than the spacing between outer edge (15) and the central channel. Also claimed is a filter disc for stacking in the filtration unit as above.
