<p>A machine and a method for compressing and packing Christmas trees and the like, the machine comprising a frame (1) defining a substantially horizontal compressing and packing platform (4), substantially vertical abutment means (11) connected to the frame (1) adjacent the compressing and packing platform (4) and first compressing means (6, 6a) connected to the frame (1) and for compressing the trees against the abutment means (11), the first compressing means being adapted to pivot around a first axis, between a first horizontal tree unloading position, and a second tree compressing position wherein the first compressing means (6, 6a) abut the trees in the final compressed condition thereof. The machine further comprising second compressing means (23) arranged pivotable around a horizontal axis and vertically displaceable between a first tree loading uppermost position and a second tree compressing lowermost position by means of third actuating means connected to the frame (1).</p> |
