An arrangement of thread working elements (2) in a knitting machine has a carrier (1) in which the elements lie at equal intervals in one plane, project from one (5) of its end faces and are locked in place by material applied to element end sections (7). The carrier has a groove (6) in the end face in which the element ends are bedded, using a curable filling paste (3) as the material to form the interlocking join. Also claimed is a process for making the arrangement where the carrier is a flat piece prefabricated with its groove. The filling paste is applied to the groove, the element end sections are introduced into the groove using a tool for holding the elements in one plane and the paste is allowed to harden.
