Pressed union between pipes

A pipe joint consists of a press fitting (1) with at least a section with a bead-like cross-section which receives a sealing ring (3) and an adjacent cylindrical area (4) provided at one end with a flange-shaped recess (6) which forms a stop. A conduit (5) rests with its smooth end area against the inner stop of the press fitting after it is inserted into the press fitting and forms an undetachable, tight pipe joint after it is pressed by a pressing tool with at least two pressing jaws which are closed upon the press fitting and act on the ring-shaped bead, including on the sealing ring placed therein, and on the cylindrical area of the press fitting. Means are arranged in the area of the press fitting into which the conduit is inserted, out of the area affected by the pressing jaws, to prevent to a large extent the inserted conduit to move axially backwards. The inner diameter, in the non-stressed state, of said displacement preventing means is smaller than the smallest, permissible according to the tolerances, outer diameter of the inserted conduit.
