Compact sawmill for felled logs

The sawmill has a feed device (12) for the transverse transport of the felled logs (11) to a horizontal bandsaw (15), a further feed device (21) for transverse transport of the log sections to a second cutter (22) parallel to the horizontal bandsaw and a feeding and sorting device (23) for supplying the cut wood to different stacks (25-29) dependent on its size and/or quality. The latter cut wood stacks may extend parallel to the longitudinal axis of the horizontal bandsaw, with the feeding and sorting device having a stack transporter travelling along overhead rails.
