Press ram ribbed guide incorporates cavity accommodating travel end=stop

A ribbed guide within a conventional press breech block ram is arrested at the limit of travel by an end-stop fixed to the press frame, requiring additional space (dimension M); under some circumstances there may not be enough room to secure the ribbed guide and end-stop to the frame. A new ribbed guide (2) incorporates cavities (3) which create space for the end-stops (4) which are bolted to the machine frame (1). The ribbed guide running surfaces (11, 12) may be formed e.g. as an 8-rail guide (11) or as a 4-rail guide and 45 degree guide (12).
