A process for loading or unloading a heat storage unit,comprises feeding a heat exchanger medium into a storage medium and then separating it. The heat storage unit consists of three functionally independent heat circuits. The loading circuit is connected to the delivery circuit of the exchange medium. The unloading circuit is located outside the storage medium.
