<p>Liquid crystal compositions comprising a compound of general formula (I-a) or the like as a first component and a compound of the general formula (II): R?5-(B)-Z2-(C)-R6¿ (wherein R?1, R5 and R6¿ are each alkyl or the like; Z2 is -CH¿2?CH2- or the like; and A?1¿, B and C are each 1,4-cyclohexylene or the like) or the like as a second component, and containing a chiral compound of general formula (X) as a third component. The compositions satisfy the various requirements for STN display systems and have wide d/P margins to cope with enlarging LCD panels.</p> |
