Manufacture of modified manganese di-oxide for rechargeable alkali battery electrodes
摘要
A process for making modified manganese dioxide for rechargeable alkali battery electrodes has the dioxide physically mixed with alkali earth titanates of the common formula Me-Ti-O3 and the mixture is subsequently reprocessed using known methods to make electrode material. Barium titanate is used and is ground up with the manganese dioxide. For 100 parts of manganese dioxide, between 2 and 35 parts of barium titanate powder are used. The manganese dioxide contains water of crystallisation. A rechargeable galvanic element has a negative electrode, preferably of zinc, cadmium or metal hydride, a positive element made like the above and an aqueous alkali electrolyte. The positive electrode has additional conducting agents plus an organic or inorganic binding agent.
