摘要

An x-ray tube having novel components and geometry to optimize the resolution of fan beam and flying-spot transmission images by varying the size of the focal region and by compensating the tube current in response to the degree of beam attenuation by the imaged object, and by taking the plane of the fan beam off the x-ray tube at an acute angle to the cathode-anode axis.
