A device for depositing a bead of material, such as an adhesive or a sealant, the device including a bead-depositing nozzle. One nozzle (1) described has a passageway (6) through which material passes from an inlet (2) to an outlet (3), and an end face (4) surrounding the outlet (3) and having an area greater than one half the cross-sectional area of the outlet (3) at the end face (4). The centre of the outlet is spaced apart from the centre of the end face (4) and the central longitudinal axis (5) of the nozzle (1). Another nozzle (1') described, illustrated in Figure 7, has a housing (8', 9') defining a passageway through which material passes from an inlet to an outlet end, the outlet end including an opening (3') in a first end face (4') of the housing and also a bead shaping opening (18') in a second side face (19') of the housing. The bead shaping opening (18') is a continuation of the opening (3') in the first face (4') of the housing (8', 9') and extends back from the end of the housing (8', 9'). |
