<p>A graft polymer is prepared by reacting amino acid halide having other reactive groups protected, with a biodegradable polymer. The biodegradable polymer contains a carbanion on the carbon alpha to the carbon of a carbonyl group. The protecting groups are then removed. The graft polymer is useful as a medical article.</p> |
