The shrinking device comprises a fuel supply, air supply, mixer nozzle and burner. The mixer nozzle (1) comprises a venturi pipe (7) set in the handle of the device and having a conical inlet (8) and conical outlet (9) with supply valve (4) for the burner gas opening at a distance into the inlet. The mixer nozzle is adjoined by a widening diffusor (5) whose outlet end is sealed by a flame support (17) which is adjoined by a burner chamber (6) which has a ignition device (23) and tapering outlet end (21). The burner chamber is enclosed at a distance by an equidistant sleeve tube (20).
